Vernal Equinox 2005

It is important for us as a human community, to reach within and bring forward acts of compassion. I learned this first hand by volunteering to serve soup at the annual Souper Bowl fund raiser benefiting the Roadrunner Food Bank of Albuquerque, NM. In a booth hosted by Whole Foods Market, I became more aware of the needs of our brothers and sisters who without assistance would go without food and water. For some children, the meals provided by this service are their only source of nourishment at home. It is staggering when you come face to face with the reality, human beings here in America starve to death. With this in mind, between the Vernal Equinox and Summer Solstice I will be donating 20% of sales from the work originating "In The Studio" and 10% from sales originating from "Windsor Betts Art Brokerage House" and "Turquoise Tortoise Contemporary" to benefit the FOOD FOR KIDS program hosted by The Roadrunner Food Bank. The FOOD FOR KIDS emergency food assistance program provides nutritious foods to children in low-income elementary schools. Kids who aren't getting enough to eat at home are given a backpack filled with food each week to help supplement the free breakfasts and lunches they receive at school. We can make a difference.

$250 equaling 179 lb. in food has been delivered to the FOOD FOR KIDS program thanks to Terry Lagerberg of Westfield, MA.
