New Years Day

New Years Day ~ It seems to me a new year brings with it a fresh inhale of hope and resolution. We are born into a new year with the intent of being better versions of ourselves. We wish to be better fathers or mothers, better sons or daughters, a better friend, a better person. We wish to accomplish more, exercise more, keep in contact more, in short, eliminate regret. For a moment it feels possible to be the person we imagine. Holding on to that possibility can be slippery as the daily tasks creep in one by one until we are back in the noise of our lives. How do we capture the  new vision of ourselves in future and keep it present? How do we live on purpose? How do we slow down and live authentically? Creating ourselves is the art of life. Will we create fine art or will we create a smudge?
