The Garden - Mr. Benny’s cage was next to the flower garden. He stayed in there when I was at school or if I had chores. I had to be careful putting him in or taking him out of his hutch. He liked getting out of my arms and eating the blooms; they looked delicious. For my birthday, I ask for a box of pastels. Pastels looked soft like petals. I do not recall how many drawings I did, at least one hundred. The drawings remind me of my mother who loved her flowers. When I left home, she gave me iris buds from her garden. When she left this world, I bought the home she and my dad built and put the bulbs back in the ground, back home where they belong. The goat field is next to the flower garden. I have to be careful and not let them out; they like eating the blooms. The blooms are delicious.
