Vida Ward is an award winning photographer living in Portland, Oregon. She started her career as a "dig" photographer while excavating at Carthage in Tunisia in the '70s. VIda has a master's degree in Classical Archeology and traveled extensively in the middle east on excavation sites, mainly in Cyprus and Tunisia. On her way home from a dig she stopped in Egypt to photograph. One of these pictures won her her first national award - "Best in Show" from the Saturday Review Magazine winning a trip to Morocco, launching her photographic journey.
Vida's favorite subjects are wildlife, especially birds and horses, passions reflected in her most recognized works. Her love and familiarity with horses stems from being raised, part time, on a working cattle ranch in Arizona, which is still family owned.
